No, diving certification is not required. Many liveaboard guests enjoy world-class snorkeling, island hiking, and relaxation. However, PADI Open Water certification or equivalent is needed to dive the premier sites like Batu Bolong and Castle Rock.
Top sites include Batu Bolong, Castle Rock, Crystal Rock, Manta Point for manta rays, Tatawa Besar, Siaba Besar for turtles, and Shotgun for current diving. Liveaboards access remote sites that day trips cannot reach due to distance.
Scubaspa Zen combines spa luxury with professional diving. Jakare and Katharina are excellent for serious divers. Cajoma IV and Kelana offer intimate small-group dive experiences. The best choice depends on group size, dive experience level, and budget.
April through November offers the best diving conditions with visibility of 15-30 meters. Manta ray encounters peak December through February at Manta Point. Water temperatures range from 25-29°C year-round. Each season offers different marine life highlights.
Liveaboard trips include accommodation, all meals, guided dives with dive master, tank fills, snorkeling equipment, Komodo National Park fees, island treks with rangers, and tender boat transfers. Nitrox, dive gear rental, and spa services may be additional.
